Leadership at St. Alfred's encompasses the rector, clergy, staff, and numerous dedicated members of the congregation who volunteer their skills and time. To reach individuals listed below please call the church office at 727-785-1601 or email as noted.
The Rev. Peter A. Lane, Rector
Fr. Peter, a native New Englander and the son of an Episcopal priest, was ordained in 1998 and has served parishes in Rhode Island (twice!), New Hampshire, Washington state, and now Florida. He began his ministry at St. Alfred’s in March of 2018 and since that time has enabled the parish to thrive and grow, navigate the pandemic, install a new Casavant pipe organ (a forty-year dream of the parish), and most recently begin long range planning for the future development of St. Alfred’s five-acre campus.
His focus in ministry is on pastoral care, particularly with folks in the latter third of life,
leadership development and ensuring that St. Alfred’s is a church community where people are able to build lasting friendships, engage in meaningful service to their parish and the wider community, and most importantly, grow in their love and praise of God through study, prayer, and worship.

Assisting Priests
St. Alfred's is blessed to have attracted a diversity of voices from ordained Episcopal Priests who have retired to the Palm Harbor area and have joined our parish. We thank them for adding to the vibrancy of our church life through their contributions to St. Alfred's worship, study, and prayer. Pictured from left to right are the Rev. Dale Hathaway, the Rev. St. Alfred's Vestry
The Vestry is a group of nine lay members (along with the Rector, who presides, and the Clerk, who records the minutes) that is responsible for overseeing St. Alfred’s temporal affairs, such as finances, property, and overall mission. Vestry members serve three years and are elected by the church membership at the annual meeting in January.

Kevin V. Johnson
Organist, Choirmaster Kevin V. Johnson has been Organist/Choirmaster at St. Alfred’s since February of 2000. He has been a respected Organist and Choir Director in the Tampa Bay Area since 1979, serving in musical leadership roles in the Diocese of Southwest Florida for more than four decades. In 2025, Kevin celebrated his 25th Anniversary as St. Alfred’s Organist/Choirmaster. In honor of this occasion, the Vestry has designated the Choir Room as the “Kevin V. Staff
In addition to our Clergy, St. Alfred's is fortunate to have passionate and talented lay people leading the church with love, kindness, and grace. Cindy Chadduck– Assistant to the Rector Cindy handles a myriad of office duties with cheerfulness, professionalism, and discretion. She maintains the Rector's calendar, updates the church management system (Realm), updates the website, and schedules newcomer meetings, among many other duties, and always with warmth and a smile. Barb Kunkel - Office Administrator
After a 41-year Air Force and civilian career as the human resource officer for Norfolk International Airport, Barb Kunkel brings her talents, energy, and organizational skills to St. Alfred’s where she works with the clergy, office staff and volunteers to manage all of the activities of the parish. Barb Christian - Volunteer Coordinator
Another Air Force veteran, Barb C, as she is affectionately known, coordinates our office volunteers, handles numerous administrative tasks, and serves as the unofficial church historian. Scott Garrett - Treasurer
The Treasurer is responsible for administrative oversight of the financial operations of St. Alfred’s, including contribution and cash management, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. The treasurer also assists in contract negotiation and ongoing contract management. Scott Garrett is a long-time member of St. Alfred’s who has served in various leadership roles at the church, including serving as Senior Warden for multiple terms. He comes to the Treasurer role with more than 40 year’s experience in Executive Leadership in the Healthcare industry. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology and Masters of Business Administration from the University of South Florida. Contact Scott: [email protected] |
