Outreach
As followers of Jesus, we understand that caring for those in need is at the heart of living a Christian life. Jesus constantly sought out those on the margins, asking them what they needed. We are called to show the same care and compassion to those in need in our community. Throughout the year, St. Alfred's partners with community and worldwide organizations to reach those in need, including those listed below the photos. Outreach Team meetings are held the first Saturday of the month at 2 p.m. in Reister Hall. All Parish Members are welcome! Contact Sue Broward or email [email protected] for more information.
Jamaica Educational and Medical Mission
For many years, St. Alfred's parishioners have provided substantial financial and on-site support for the Educational Program of Albion Mountain Primary & Basic School in Jamaica by raising funds for students including tuition and uniforms and books, instructional education resources, playground equipment, and staff. Medical professional parishioners have also traveled to Jamaica to deliver medicines and preventive treatment for children and adults in the community.

Rice Bagging and Outreach Team Meeting
On the first Saturday of the month at 2 p.m., a dedicated team of “baggers” and Outreach Team members, meets in Reister Hall to portion out rice into smaller bags for Daystar Life. For many years, Daystar has been serving the needy in all of Pinellas County with food, shelter, job training, counseling services, and support groups. After the fellowship of rice bagging, the Outreach Team meets to discuss St. Alfred's Outreach programs. |
FEAST
St. Alfred’s collects food on a weekly basis for FEAST, a food pantry serving Northern Pinellas County for more than 30 years. Annually we pair with PLATO Academy to do a Thanksgiving food drive. To donate, bring non-perishable food items and other household staples to any of our worship services. A collection basket is located in the narthex (entrance) of the church.

Clothes To Kids
Drop Your Drawers is an event held every June in which we collect new underwear and socks for children who are clients of Clothes To Kids. In addition, Clothes to Kids accepts donations of gently used and new clothing to stock their store, which provides eligible kids an opportunity to shop for clothes, shoes, and accessories.
