Outreach
As followers of Jesus, we understand that caring for those in need is at the heart of living a Christian life. Jesus constantly sought out those on the margins, asking them what they needed. We are called to show the same care and compassion to those in need in our community. Throughout the year, our community partners with organizations listed below. Parish Members are always welcome to attend our monthly meetings.

OUTREACH MEETING
Rice Bagging First Saturday of the month 2:00pm Monthly a dedicated team of “Baggers” meet in Reister Hall, to portion out rice into smaller bags, for Daystar Life Center, following we have our monthly Outreach Meeting. FEAST
St. Alfred’s collects food on a weekly basis for FEAST, a food pantry serving Northern Pinellas County for more than 30 years. Annually we pair with PLATO Academy to do a Thanksgiving food drive. To donate, bring non-perishable food items and other household staples to any of our worship services. A collection basket is located in the narthex (entrance) of the church.

Daystar
Since 1982 Daystar Life Center has been serving the needy in all of Pinellas County with food, shelter, job training, counseling services, and support groups. In the past six years, St. Alfred’s has donated over 13 tons of rice through our monthly Rice Baggie Meeting.

Eckerd Connects
Raising Hope donations for children. Weekly we collect kid-size toothbrushes and toothpaste. We have a donation box in the Narthex to drop off.

Drop Your Drawers is an event held every June where we collect new underwear and socks for children.

Take Stock in Children is offered from September - May where you mentor a student 30 minutes a week
during lunch time.

Clean Out your Closet is a clothing drive that we collect for every September.

Dunedin Cares Community Food Pantry
Parishioners at St. Alfred's share joy and bring birthday cheer to the clients of the Dunedin Cares Community Food Pantry by donating or funding birthday bags with all the makings of a small party: boxed cake mix, frosting, candles, decorations, etc.

Albion Mountain Primary School in Jamaica
St. Alfred's supports the Educational Program of Albion Mountain Primary & Basic School in Jamaica by raising funds to address the needs of the students including tuition and uniforms and books for students, instructional education resources for teachers, playground equipment, and additional staff. |
Ronald McDonald House
Four times a year, St. Alfred's parishioners prepare dinner at Tampa Ronald McDonald House, a home away from home that provides comfort, support and resources to families who travel far from home for the medical care their child needs.

Family Support Group (FSS)
The Outreach Committee would like to thank our parish for your support of the Family Support Services (FSS) young adults who are aging out of foster care and entering into their 1st apartment. Your generosity continues to be amazing! In addition to a very large amount of physical items - pots & pans, china, toaster ovens, toasters, etc $195 in gift cards was also donated. What a Blessing you have provided! Thank You.

A Big Thank You to St Alfreds for the generous response to our recent Toys for Jamaica Drive!! Because of your generosity, 57 lbs or approximately 270+ toys (Beanie Babies, Matchbox cars, Racing unicorns, rubber duckies, etc) have completed the first leg of their journey and will soon continue their travels to Jamaica!! And our thanks to those who contributed money for this project - we are grateful.
