At St. Alfred’s, we see Pastoral Care as the work of the whole congregation. While our Rector is the chief pastor of the parish, assisted by our other clergy, each one of us is called by our Lord to “love our neighbor as ourselves," and that love leads us to offer care and compassion to one another throughout the ups and downs of daily living.
Our clergy are available for personal counseling, spiritual guidance, and home or hospital visits when such a need arises. We have an active team of Lay Eucharistic Visitors who regularly bring communion to the homebound and infirmed. We also have a team of parishioners who regularly make phone calls and send cards to those on our parish prayer list and other members of the parish who can no longer come to church. In addition, we also offer support groups for those grieving the death of a loved one (GriefShare), or who are caring for a loved one through a medical crisis or decline (Caregiver Support Group).
If you or someone you know has need of this compassionate care, please call the church office and speak with Cindy Chadduck, Assistant to the Rector, and she will assist you (727-785-1601 or email [email protected]).

GriefShare
GriefShare is a 13-week grief support program designed to help those grieving the loss of a loved one to be able to journey from mourning to joy. Meetings are held weekly in the Parish Library. Thousands of families in the Tampa Bay area are in that situation, and we are here to offer you the support, understanding, learning, and hope you need to carry on with this difficult responsibility.
