Adult Faith Formation

Bible Study (New Testament)
Monday 7:00 p.m. New Testament Bible Study is offered weekly from September through May. This class delves into the history, social values and mores of the times to give you deeper understanding of the context and meaning of the Bible. Classes meet in the Parish Library and via Zoom. Faith in the Public Square

Centering Prayer
A receptive method of Christian silent prayer, Centering Prayer deepens our relationship with God, the Indwelling Presence...a method of prayer in which we can experience God's presence within us, closer than breathing, closer than thinking, closer than consciousness itself. We meet weekly on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. in Garrett Chapel and hold monthly sessions on the 3rd Saturday mornings of the month. Contact: Mary Pat Sjostrom |

Lectio Poetica
Lecto Poetica, or "sacred reading," is a contemplative practice that applies to poetry the slow, mindful and repetitive meditative techniques of Lectio Divina (traditionally used for scripture). The goal is to move beyond analytical interpretation, listening to discover deeper, often personal, spiritual or emotional meanings. Meetings are held on the first and third Fridays of the month at 1 p.m. in the Parish Library. Contact: Fr Peter. |
The Order of the Daughters of the King
Daughters of the King (DOK)is a world-wide order for women who are members of the Episcopal church or churches in communion with the Episcopal Church. Members undertake a Rule of Life that includes The Rule of Prayer and The Rule of Service.

Men on The Way
St. Alfred's men’s ministry, Men on The Way, meets on the first Saturday of the month at 8:45 a.m. in the Parish Library for fellowship, and to encourage each other in prayer, study and service. All men are welcome.
